Community Solidarity

Food and Holiday Support: We collaborate with Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles (OBKLA) to feed families in need. During high holidays like Passover and Rosh Hashanah, we partner with Sanaz Jedian to provide grocery store gift cards to struggling families in the LA community.

Support for Jewish Foster Kids: Maman assists Jewish foster kids in emergency situations by finding safe housing and offering stability. For children from abusive homes, we find foster care solutions, plan playdates and visits for at-risk youth, and regularly check on these children to ensure they receive medical and mental health care.

Holistic Family Assistance: We provide holistic therapies for mothers, including meditation, visualization, massage, reiki, and Kabbalah coaching during their illnesses. We ensure the well-being of children while a family member undergoes treatment, offering family support and assistance with meals, rides, babysitting, and acting as liaisons with existing community support or providing it when necessary.

Meal Support: Maman organizes meal and grocery trains, coordinating meal drop-offs, and assisting with grocery shopping to support families facing a rough patch. We deliver meals to alleviate the daily stress of meal preparation during challenging times.

Special Celebrations and Hospital Support: We organize birthday parties and Bar/Bat Mitzvahs for kids when families are unable to due to the stress of illness, ensuring kids have Hanukkah and birthday gifts. We also send visitors to hospitals, providing companionship and support to families during their medical journey, and facilitate meditation sessions with families and loved ones in hospital settings.

Vigils
We worked with the Harouni family in organizing a vigil for Dr. Ben Harouni after his untimely death, demonstrating our commitment to supporting the community during times of grief and loss.
